Batik craftsmanship is important cultural heritage to a wide range of Indigenous people who live in Southwest China. Xiaomei Wang, the Director of the “Hands on Memory Museum”, has dedicated her life to preserving and revitalizing traditional batik production techniques.
Xiaomei will exhibit traditional clothing from the “Hands on Memory Museum” and conduct a demonstration of how indigo dyes are produced and textiles are stained.
