Harmony and Compassion - Music in Buddhist Ritual is a three-day online conference and performance series featuring scholars, educators, composers, lamas, monks, and musicians demonstrating the ways that music is used in Buddhist practice, from the most traditional to the most contemporary of forms.
Day two of the conference will focus on the varied ways that Buddhist teachings inspire individual musical practice, imagination, and creativity.
The afternoon session will feature a diverse group of scholars and musicians appearing live or on video via Zoom Webinar. After a break, the conference will continue with a series of performances, some created for this conference, featuring a wide array of new and traditional music inspired by Buddhist teachings.
