Abstract: The talk introduces the origin and implementation of China’s national strategies such as the Belt and Road Initiative. It explains that domestic politics has been a significant motivation for China’s overseas economic activities, revealing how China has risen from a middle power in 1998 to a superpower in the world in recent years. The talk concludes with a discussion of the BRI’s continuity and change after the COVID-19.
