Description 詳情

In its 14 chapters, A New Documentary History of Hong Kong examines a range of themes spanning politics, economics, society and culture through reproduced primary sources, diagrams and images. This event welcomes four of the volume’s contributors to talk about their chapters and the project of bringing Hong Kong’s history to life using lesser-studied sources.

We will begin with an introduction by the book’s co-editor Florence Mok (Nanyang Technological University) followed by presentations from Adonis M. Y. Li (University of Lincoln – ‘Transport and Communications’), Allan T. F. Pang (University of Bristol – ‘Education’ and ‘Cultural Policies’) and Matthew Hurst (University of York – ‘Constitutional Change’), and finally a roundtable Q&A chaired by David Clayton (University of York).
