Youmin Xi
Executive President of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, and Senior Professor of Management at Xi'an Jiaotong University.Through logical training in physics at the undergraduate level, a holistic perspective from systems engineering at the master’s level, and a humanistic approach in management at the doctoral level, Professor Xi Youmin founded the Theory of HeXie Management (1985). He led the establishment and innovative development of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (2006), with a continued dedication to management and education. He has published over 30 books, more than 300 papers, received over 10 provincial and ministerial- level awards for research achievements, supervised nearly 200 graduate students, and earned numerous national honours, including the ‘China Youth Scientist Award. ’ He also serves as Co-President of Chinese Academy of Management (CAM) and Chair of the Ministry of Education's Business Administration Education Steering Committee.
Da Hsuan Feng
Chairman of the International Advisory Board and Honorary Dean of the Belt and Road Research Institute at Hainan University, and Chief Advisor of China Silk iValley Research Institute.
He holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Minnesota and has served as Vice President for Research at the University of Texas at Dallas and other leadership roles in universities globally. A Fellow of the American Physical Society, Feng has honorary professor roles at 15 Chinese universities and is an Academic Advisor of Center for China and Globalization (CCG). He has received several prestigious awards and is a prolific author. Feng co-founded platforms like the Dialogues on Asian Universities (DAU) and “China and the World ZOOM platform” to foster global academic and cultural exchanges.
Max Lu
Ph.D. student in Education at Harvard University and Co-founder of Dialogues on Asian Universities (DAU)
Max Lu co-founded the Dialogue on Asian Universities (DAU) in 2020 alongside Da Hsuan Feng, Tan Eng Chye, and Tony F Chan. DAU is a premier platform for university leaders to explore the challenges and opportunities in Asian higher education. Max’s research focuses on the intersection of technology, media, and learning sciences, with a particular interest in utilizing Humanistic Intelligence (HI) principles to enhance learning efficiency through technology. Prior to Harvard, Max worked on news innovations at Bloomberg LP and the Los Angeles Times. He holds a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Toronto. Max is also an adjunct professor at the Hainan University Belt and Road Research Institute and a technology fellow at the USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership and Policy.
