- Description 詳情
As Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine enters its fifth year, this roundtable will examine how the war has been interpreted, framed, and debated within China’s academic community, media landscape, and online sphere. The event will explore the evolution of Chinese scholarly and media narratives on the war in Ukraine, including shifts in analytical frameworks, dominant themes, and strategic positioning.
The discussion will compare coverage across state-controlled outlets and independent or semi-independent digital platforms (自媒体), highlighting differences in tone, framing, and narrative construction. It will also address the perceptions circulating among Chinese netizens and consider how these reflect broader sociopolitical currents within China and the wider Sinosphere.
